On Fisher & Paykel SmartLoad and AeroSmart dryers such as the DEGX1, DGGX1, DE27CW1 and DG27CW1, Code 20 means the door actuator stalled. The actuator is the motorized part that works the door mechanism, and it has stopped partway instead of finishing its movement. Owners see Code 20 and a door that may be stuck, or a dryer that will not begin a cycle.
1. Open the door and check nothing is caught in the opening or hinge area. 2. Close the door gently without slamming it. 3. Unplug the dryer for one minute and plug it in again. 4. Try a short cycle. If Code 20 returns, call us.
It is a small motorized part that operates the door mechanism. A stall means it started moving and could not finish, either from a jam or because the actuator itself is failing.
It can be. Code 10 is a low 24 volt actuator supply. If the actuator is not getting enough power it can stall, so we check the supply during the same visit.
Please do not. If clothes are trapped, call us. We free the mechanism safely, quote in writing, and back the repair with our 30-day workmanship warranty.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
