On Fisher & Paykel AquaSmart and EcoSmart top-load washers such as the WA37T26EW and WA42T26GW, and SmartDrive Phase 6 models like the GWL11, code 232 is a 5 second comms timeout. It applies to integrated washers: either the display module or the motor control module did not respond in time. The washer halts and shows the number, much like the other display to motor control communication codes.
1. Power the washer off and unplug it for one minute. 2. Plug in and run a short empty cycle. 3. Check that the outlet and cord are in good condition. 4. If code 232 returns, leave the washer unplugged and call us. The link between modules is inside the cabinet.
The washer waits up to 5 seconds for the other module to answer. If neither reply arrives, the control raises code 232.
It could be either; the code does not say which stopped answering. A technician tests the link and both modules.
