On Fisher & Paykel WH2424 front-load washers, such as the WH2424F1, WH2424P1 and WH2424P2, "out OF bAL" means the wash load is out of balance. The clothes have bunched on one side of the drum, so the washer cannot spin at speed. Redistribute the load and check that the washer is level, and it normally continues by itself. The washer resumes once the load is balanced.
1. Pause the cycle and wait for the drum to stop and the door to unlock. 2. Open the door and spread the laundry evenly. 3. Take out any single heavy item and wash it with a mixed load. 4. Check that the washer is level and does not rock. 5. Close the door and restart.
A single towel, blanket, or rug, or a few heavy wet items with little else. Mixing large and small pieces helps. Mixing sizes spreads the weight more evenly.
Press down on opposite corners of the top. If the washer rocks, adjust the feet until it is steady, then run the spin again. Rocking means a foot needs adjusting.
It is better not to. An unbalanced drum shakes the cabinet, so let the washer pause and rebalance the load. Pausing lets you fix it without damage.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
