On Fisher & Paykel AquaSmart and EcoSmart top-load washers like the WA37T26EW and WA42T26GW, and SmartDrive Phase 2 to 6 machines such as the GWL15, code 105 is a communications error timeout. The display module reported that it stopped hearing from the motor control module. It can also appear when the display is changed while the power is still on. Expect a stopped cycle and the number on the screen.
1. Press power off and unplug the washer for one minute. 2. Plug in again and run a short empty spin. 3. Look at the outlet and cord for damage, and skip any extension cord. 4. If code 105 shows again, stop and call us. Do not remove the display yourself, because reconnecting a display with power on can bring this code back.
A display reconnected or replaced while the washer was still powered can drop the link to the motor control module. Power-cycling after the swap sometimes restores it, but a check is wise.
It reports a timeout: the display module waited for the motor control module and got no reply. It is a message about the electronics talking, not about water or load.
