On current Fisher & Paykel OB24 and OB30 Series 7 and 9 built-in ovens, such as the OB30SDPTX1 and OB24SDPTX1, A1 is an alert telling you the oven has overheated. The display shows A1 and heating stops. Once the oven has cooled and the door has unlocked, the code clears by itself. The same A1 wording appears on Fisher & Paykel steam ovens, speed ovens and ranges.
1. Turn the oven off and leave the door closed; let it cool completely, which can take an hour or more. 2. Do not force the door open if it is still locked. 3. When the door unlocks and A1 disappears, check that no vents are covered by foil, trays or cabinet items. 4. Try a normal bake at a moderate temperature. 5. If A1 comes back quickly, call us.
A single alert after a very long or very hot session can happen. Let the oven cool fully; if the code clears and stays away, keep an eye on it. Repeated alerts need a technician.
The door stays locked while the oven is too hot to open safely. Once it has cooled enough, the lock releases and the A1 code disappears on its own.
Not by itself. It is a warning that heat got too high. We look for the reason, such as airflow or a cooling fan, before deciding on a repair.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
