Fisher & Paykel DEGX2 SmartLoad Dryer Service

The DEGX2 is the second-generation SmartLoad electric dryer, and the first thing people notice is that it loads from the top, like the washer it was made to sit beside. With no front door there is no screen to clip lint onto, so the lint goes into a bucket. A bucket that is not pushed fully home sends lint into the duct, and the airflow starts to choke.
That is why we look at the bucket and the vent before we open the machine. The control reads exhaust temperature and warns with beeps, so a restricted duct that raises the temperature can be mistaken for a bad sensor. We test the sensor with a meter after the air is clear, then check the element and the drum support for rumble. A written price comes first, and we cover our work for 30 days.
The lid on top leaves no front door to hold a screen, so lint collects in a bucket. If it is not seated all the way, lint passes into the duct. Emptying it each load helps.
The control gives beep-coded warnings, tied to temperature or airflow. We read the pattern, then check the vent and the exhaust sensor, since a restricted duct tends to be the real cause.
It depends on whether it is a support, a roller or a bearing. We find the source by turning the drum by hand and listening, then quote the repair in writing before any parts are ordered.
