Fisher & Paykel WL4027G1 Agitator Washer Repair
The WL4027G1 is a 27-inch AquaSmart top-load washer with a low-profile agitator, a 4.0 cubic foot (22 lb) tub, 6 wash cycles and an 1100 rpm spin. The powder-coated steel lid sets it apart from the glass-lid versions.
It fits the usual 27-inch laundry space, against a wall with a dryer of similar width beside it. On a service visit we check the agitator action first, because the agitator is what moves the load, and then the drain pump, the lid switch and the inlet screens. A steel lid takes knocks well, but its hinge and switch need to line up, so we test that alignment.

Check the agitator coupling and the drive first. A worn coupling lets the agitator spin without grip. We remove the agitator, inspect the coupling, and replace what is worn.
The lid switch has not registered. We test the switch and see whether the lid sits square on its hinge. A bent hinge or a worn switch is the cause.
The tub is rated at 4.0 cubic feet or 22 lb. Overloading strains the suspension, so keep loads under that. If the spin is loud with normal loads, we inspect the suspension.
