On Fisher & Paykel AquaSmart and EcoSmart top-load washers like the WA37T26EW and WA42T26GW, and on SmartDrive Phase 1 to 4 machines, code 133 is a repetitive current trip. The motor control module detected excess current in the motor or electronic switches, again and again. It is a more severe occurrence than code 132 but has the same sources and the same service procedure. The washer stops with the number displayed.
1. Turn the washer off and unplug it for a full minute. 2. Take the clothes out, plug back in, and try one short empty spin. 3. With power off, lift the lid and confirm the drum turns by hand. 4. If code 133 comes back, do not keep trying. Leave the washer unplugged and call us.
Both report excess current. Code 132 is a single trip; code 133 means the trip keeps repeating, which is more severe, though the service steps are the same.
One empty test spin is reasonable. Beyond that, repeated trips can damage the drive electronics, so stop and let a technician check the motor and module.
It depends on what testing shows, so we do not guess. We explain the finding, quote in writing, and back the work with a 30-day workmanship warranty.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
