On Fisher & Paykel SmartDrive Phase 5 top-load washers, code 127 is a machine setup error. It means the display module installed in the washer was made for a different model, size or phase than the washer it is sitting in. The washer cannot finish its setup, so it shows 127 and does not run a normal wash cycle. Nothing you pressed on the panel causes it.
1. Turn the washer off and switch its breaker off for one minute. 2. Turn power back on and check whether 127 appears right away. 3. Do not try more cycles if it does. 4. Call us and tell us if any part was changed recently; we will match the display to your model.
The washer checks that its display matches its model, size and phase. A display from another washer fails that check and the machine reports 127.
Not usually. It tends to follow a display or control replacement where the wrong version was installed. Nothing you did at the control panel causes it.
A reset will not change what the display module is built for. The right display has to be fitted, so a restart alone will not clear 127.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
