What 65 (SmartDrive) means

On Fisher & Paykel SmartDrive Phase 5 and 6 top-load washers such as the GWL11 and GWL15, code 65 is a pressure transducer error. The Motor Control Module has received signals from the water level sensor (Ptx) above the normal frequency of 90 kHz. The owner sees 65 and the washer cannot read the tub level correctly.

Common causes of 65 (SmartDrive)

  • Pressure transducer signal high
  • Transducer or wiring damaged
  • Module input failing
✓ One safe check you can try

1. Unplug the washer. 2. Plug in and start a short cycle. 3. Watch the fill. 4. If 65 shows, stop and call us.

! Why to stop there
  • The transducer sits inside the cabinet
  • We test the signal before replacing
  • A written price comes first
Opening a panel yourself does not automatically cancel a manufacturer warranty, but it can cause accidental damage, and some manufacturers set their own service conditions. Check your warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
