On Fisher & Paykel SmartDrive top-load washers in Phases 1 to 6, such as the GWL11 and GWL15, code 11 is a pressure sensor message. While measuring the water level, the motor control module detected a negative pressure. This can happen if the pressure tube was reconnected to the sensor after the bowl had partly filled with water. The washer cannot judge its water level and stops with the number showing.
1. Turn the washer off, then run it through a full drain so the bowl is empty. 2. Unplug it for a minute and plug it back in. 3. Start a short cycle and watch whether the fill reaches a normal level. 4. If code 11 returns, stop using it and book a visit. The pressure tube and sensor are behind panels that we check with the washer unplugged.
Reconnecting the pressure tube while the bowl is partly filled can do it. A tube or sensor that no longer seals properly can also give the control a negative reading.
We advise against it. Reseating with water in the bowl is what triggers this reading, and the work is inside the cabinet. Let us do it with the washer drained and unplugged.
The meaning applies to SmartDrive Phases 1 to 6. We find the cause during one visit, quote in writing, and give a 30-day workmanship warranty on the work.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
