On Fisher & Paykel legacy 30-inch wall ovens such as the OS302, OD302, OS301 and OD301, and the OB30DDEPX1, F4 reports a problem in the power module. The display shows F4, and the oven may stop heating or refuse to start. The recommended checks are all connections to the power module and the clock module, and if it recurs the power module is replaced.
1. Turn the oven off at the breaker, wait a minute, and turn it on. 2. Set the clock and try a short bake. 3. If F4 does not return, carry on but watch it. 4. If it repeats, leave the breaker off and call us. Please do not open the oven's control area to check connections yourself.
It switches the oven's heating elements and other loads on command from the clock module. If it has a problem, the oven cannot heat properly.
A loose plug between the modules can give the same code as a failed module. Reseating it costs far less, so a technician checks connections before replacing parts.
Yes. An intermittent connection or a warming module can make it appear only sometimes. Tell us when it shows up, as the pattern guides the diagnosis.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
