Fisher & Paykel legacy 30-inch wall ovens such as the OS302, OD302, OS301 and OD301, and the OB30DDEPX1, show F5 when a communications error occurred between the clock module and the power module. The two modules lost contact. The display shows the code, and the oven may not heat or start a cycle. The remedy is to check connections and replace the power module if it persists.
1. Switch the oven off at the breaker for a full minute and back on. 2. Set the clock and run a short bake. 3. If F5 stays away, continue using the oven. 4. If F5 returns, switch off the breaker and call us. Do not remove trim or panels; the connectors are behind live circuits.
They are related. F4 is a problem in the power module itself, while F5 means the clock and power modules cannot talk to each other. Both can end with a new power module.
It may restore the link for a while. If the connection is loose or the module is failing, F5 will return, and it is better to repair it than to rely on resets.
No. With the modules not communicating, the oven cannot control heating reliably, so wait for the repair. Switch the breaker off so the oven rests safely.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
