On Fisher & Paykel SmartDrive Phase 5 and 6 top-load washers such as the GWL11 and GWL15, code 64 is a pressure transducer error. The Motor Control Module has received signals from the water level sensor (Ptx) below the normal frequency range of 66 kHz. The owner sees 64 and the washer cannot read its water level correctly.
1. Unplug the washer. 2. Plug in and start a short cycle. 3. Watch the fill. 4. If 64 shows, stop and call us.
It is the pressure transducer that tells the washer how much water is in the tub.
64 is a frequency below normal; 65 is a frequency above normal.
A wrong level reading can, so stop the cycle if water rises too high.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
