Five flashes of the LED on the ice-making board of Fisher & Paykel ActiveSmart ice and water refrigerators in the E522B series, such as the E522BRXFDU and E522BLXU mean the water solenoid current is high. The solenoid that lets water into the ice maker is drawing more current than normal. The LED is on the board at the rear power module and can be seen only from the back of the refrigerator. Water fill to the ice maker may stop.
1. Check that the water supply tap is open and the line behind the refrigerator is not kinked or crushed. 2. Unplug the refrigerator for five minutes, plug back in, and wait a few hours. 3. Do not take the water line off. 4. If the LED keeps flashing five times, call us.
It is the valve that opens to fill the ice maker with water. Five flashes say its current is high.
The code is electrical, but a failing valve can misbehave. Close the supply tap if you see any dripping and call us.
We test the solenoid and the board, quote the price in writing, and cover the work with a 30-day workmanship warranty.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
