On Fisher & Paykel ActiveSmart Ice & Water refrigerators such as the E522BRXFDU and E522BLXFDU, F30 is an ice maker and dispenser display message. It means the display is receiving no signal, which usually comes from a shorted or broken wire. There is no alarm or beeping with this one, so you may only notice a blank or unresponsive dispenser panel and the code.
1. Unplug the refrigerator for five minutes, then plug it back in. 2. Press a dispenser button and see whether the display wakes up. 3. Check that the water and ice paddles are not stuck down. 4. If F30 stays on or the panel stays dark, call us and keep the doors closed.
This message is silent. The control simply cannot hear from the display, so nothing sounds an alarm. You find out only because the panel is dark or shows F30.
In most cases yes. The display is separate from the cooling system, so food normally stays cold while the panel is down. Keep an eye on the temperature anyway.
They are close relatives. F30 says no display signal is received, while F31 points to the clock or data line of that same link. We check both lines on the visit.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
