Two flashes of the LED on the ice-making board of Fisher & Paykel ActiveSmart ice and water refrigerators in the E522B series, such as the E522BRXFDU and E522BLXU mean motor current high, motor obstructed. The ice maker motor is drawing more current than normal because something is stopping it from turning. The LED is on the board at the rear power module, visible only from the back. Ice production stops while the obstruction remains.
1. Open the freezer and look for ice stuck around the ice maker or in the bin. 2. Remove loose cubes by hand and make sure the bin sits fully in place. 3. Unplug the refrigerator for five minutes, then plug it back in. 4. If the LED again flashes twice, call us rather than forcing the mechanism.
It means the motor current is high because the motor is obstructed. Something is stopping the ice maker mechanism from moving freely.
Remove loose ice by hand. Do not use knives or picks, which can crack the plastic. If the block is deep inside, call us.
Usually, once the obstruction is cleared and the motor checks out. We give a written price before work and a 30-day workmanship warranty.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
