On Fisher & Paykel ActiveSmart Ice & Water refrigerators such as the E522BRXFDU and E522BLXFDU, Code 24 means the ice tray (IM) sensor reads above 45K ohms, shown as sensor cold. The sensor is open or disconnected. The ice maker cannot tell when the tray is frozen, so ice production may stall. The LCD shows the code. Ice production may stop completely.
1. Unplug the refrigerator for five minutes and restart. 2. Empty the ice bin and clear any jam. 3. Check the water supply valve is open. 4. If Code 24 returns, call us. Avoid forcing the ejector arm. Also note whether the water dispenser still works, since the ice maker has parts of its own.
It reads the ice tray's temperature so the ice maker knows when ice is ready to harvest. It sits in the ice maker tray. The ice maker head holds it, so the whole head may be replaced.
Probably not until it is repaired, because the maker cannot confirm the tray state. Ice may stop, but water from the dispenser normally keeps working. That is normal.
Replacing the sensor or ice maker module. The price comes first in writing, and we give a 30-day workmanship warranty. We check the whole assembly and confirm the price in writing.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
