On original E-series ActiveSmart refrigerators such as the E522BRXFDU, Code 15 means the PC (fresh food) fan draws less current than expected. Its wiring is open, or the fan has failed. Air in the fresh food compartment then moves poorly, so you may see warm shelves while the freezer stays cold. The LCD or beep pattern shows the code. Fresh food may warm while the freezer stays cold.
1. Unplug the refrigerator for five minutes and restart it. 2. Listen near the fresh food vents for a fan running. 3. Move items away from the vents so air can flow. 4. If Code 15 stays, call us. Avoid repeated restarts of the unit.
It is behind the rear panel in the fresh food compartment and pushes cold air across the shelves. The fan is behind the rear panel of the compartment.
The freezer has its own fan. If the PC fan stopped, cold air does not reach the fresh food side. The fan and the control may both be involved, so we test them separately.
We test the wiring, then replace the fan if it is dead. The price is in writing first, with a 30-day workmanship warranty. Wiring checks come first.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
