On original E-series ActiveSmart refrigerators such as the E522BRXFDU, Code 11 means the combined current drawn by the ambient heater, the PC fan and the FC fan is lower than expected. The control sees too little draw from the group. You may hear a fan stop or see warm spots, and the LCD or beep pattern shows the code. The refrigerator may run louder as the control compensates.
1. Unplug the refrigerator for five minutes and restart. 2. Listen for both fans running, one in each compartment. 3. Keep the doors closed meanwhile. 4. If Code 11 returns, call us; do not pull on rear wiring. Avoid repeated restarts of the unit.
The ambient heater, the fresh food fan and the freezer fan are measured together. Code 11 says the total current is lower than it should be. Ask us about it.
The 6-way fan and heater connector is inspected and re-terminated. If the code persists, the control module is the next step. The ambient heater is a small anti-sweat element near the door frame.
A repair. We give a price in writing first and cover our work with a 30-day workmanship warranty. A new module is only needed if the connector checks out fine.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
