On current Fisher & Paykel OR30 and OR36 Series 7 and 9 ranges, and pro ranges in the RDV3 and RIV3 families, F2 05 is a power board message that the door lock mechanism has an error. The oven cannot confirm whether the door is locked or unlocked. The display shows F2 05, and baking or self-clean may refuse to start. The range may also refuse to start any bake or clean cycle.
1. Make sure the oven is off and cool, then close the door fully. 2. Check that nothing, such as a rack or foil, is wedged in the door gap. 3. Switch the range off at the breaker for a minute, then restore power. 4. Do not force the door or pull at the latch. If the code returns, stop using the oven and call us.
We advise against it. The oven cannot confirm the door lock, so the safety logic may block heating, and a self-clean with an unreliable lock is something we would not run.
The lock motor is what moves the latch. When it reports an error, the latch may stay engaged or not engage at all, so the door can feel odd even though the hinges are fine.
It is listed for the OR30 and OR36 Series 7 and 9 ranges and the RDV3 and RIV3 pro ranges. Tell us your full model number when you call and we will confirm the code applies.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
