On current Fisher & Paykel OR30 and OR36 Series 7 and 9 ranges and RDV3 and RIV3 pro ranges such as the RDV3-304 and RIV3-486, A1 means the oven has overheated. This is an alert, not a breakdown. The display shows A1 while the oven is too hot, and the code disappears once the oven has cooled and the door has unlocked.
1. Turn the oven off and leave the door alone. 2. Wait for it to cool; the door unlocks by itself when the temperature is safe. 3. Keep vents at the back of the cooktop and around the door clear. 4. Once A1 is gone, start your next bake normally. If A1 returns on ordinary use, call us.
The code clears after the oven has cooled enough for the door to unlock. That can take a while after a long cycle, so just leave the oven off and the door alone.
Not by itself. It is a warning that the cavity got too hot. If it appears often on normal bakes, then the temperature control needs a look.
Yes in most cases. The alert concerns the oven cavity. Keep clear of the hot oven door and vents, and let us know if the alert repeats.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
