Fisher & Paykel OR30 and OR36 Series 7 and 9 ranges, such as the OR30SCG6X1 and OR36SDG6X1, and pro ranges like the RDV3-304 and RDV3-486GD, show A3 when the door cannot be unlocked after a Self Clean cycle has finished. The oven is cool, yet the door stays shut. Powering off and on, then pressing gently on the door, often lets the lock release.
1. Make sure the oven has cooled completely. 2. Turn the range off at the wall for about ten seconds and on again. 3. Press gently on the door toward the oven while the lock tries to release; do not pull hard. 4. Wait a few minutes and retry. 5. If the door stays locked or A3 returns, call us.
Give the range at least an hour after the cycle ends so it is fully cool. Then reset the power and press gently on the door while the lock tries to release.
Yes, the surface is separate from the oven door lock. You can cook on top while the door remains stuck, but you will need a repair to open the oven.
Cleaning heats the cavity a great deal. If the lock motor or switch sticks after that heat, the door will not unlock and A3 appears.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
