On Fisher & Paykel OB24 and OB30 Series 7 and 9 built-in ovens such as the OB30SDPTX1, OB30DDPTDX1 and OB24SDPTX1, A2 is a door lock error. The door could not be locked after you started a Self Clean cycle, so the cycle will not run. You will see A2 on the display. The first remedy is to power the oven off at the wall and on again.
1. Cancel the cycle and let the oven cool if it is warm. 2. Turn the oven off at the wall, wait about ten seconds, then turn it back on. 3. Set the clock again. 4. Close the door firmly, making sure nothing sits in the way, and start Self Clean again. 5. If A2 returns, stop trying and call us.
No. Self clean reaches very high temperatures, and the lock keeps the door shut. The oven refuses to start for this reason, so please do not look for workarounds.
If Self Clean now starts and locks, the reset cleared a glitch. If A2 comes back the next time you try, the lock should be inspected.
Usually not. It concerns the lock during Self Clean. You can still bake, but if the lock is failing, it can show up there too, so tell us when you call.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
