On Fisher & Paykel AquaSmart and EcoSmart top-load washers such as the WA37T26EW and WA42T26GW, and SmartDrive models like the GWL11, code 57 is a brown out during a display EEPROM write. The display asked the Motor Control Module to perform a memory write, and the module found the 15 volt supply below the safe level for writing. The owner sees 57 and the settings may not save.
1. Unplug the washer for five minutes. 2. Plug it directly into a wall outlet, not an extension cord. 3. Check whether lights flicker in the house when the washer starts. 4. If 57 returns, stop and call us.
It is a drop in supply voltage, not a full outage. The module refuses to write memory when the voltage is too low, which protects the stored data.
It can be. Try a different outlet. If 57 persists, the supply inside the washer is more likely.
Settings may not save, and the washer may stop. A cycle may run, but we do not recommend relying on it.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
