On current Fisher & Paykel OB24 and OB30 Series 7 and 9 built-in ovens such as the OB30SDPTX1 and OB24SMPTDB1, F1 04 is a communication error reported by the clock board. The power board does not respond in time, or does not respond at all. The display shows the code, and the oven may stop heating or refuse to start a cycle.
1. Turn the oven off at the breaker for one minute and restore it. 2. Set the clock and try a short bake. 3. Watch whether F1 04 returns right away or only after the oven heats up. 4. If it returns, switch off the breaker and call us, and tell us when it appears. Do not open the control housing.
F1 04 is reported by the clock board when the power board does not answer. F2 04 is the same kind of failure seen from the power board side, when the clock board does not answer.
Heat can make a marginal connection or board act up. That pattern is useful to tell us, since it points toward a loose cable or a failing board.
A reset may clear it once, but a communication problem that returns means the link or a board needs inspection. Tell us how soon it came back.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
