Fisher & Paykel OR30SCG6X1, OR36SDG6X1 and RDV3 pro ranges can display F2 18 when the power board reports a crystal oscillator error. That is the timing circuit the board relies on. It can appear during baking when a lot of condensation has built up. The oven may shut off or lock out controls until the board settles. The oven can also shut itself off in the middle of a bake.
1. Let the range cool completely with the door slightly open for an hour to dry out the cavity. 2. Wipe away any visible moisture around the control area and door seal. 3. Turn the range off at the breaker for a minute and restore power. 4. If F2 18 comes back on a dry oven, do not bake again; call us.
Yes. The error can show up during baking with a lot of condensation, so a very moist roast or a blocked vent path is worth mentioning. A dry restart sometimes clears it for good.
It is a board-level message, not a gas or burn warning. The oven may stop heating, which is the safe response, but we still want the cause found before regular use resumes.
If the error repeats on a dry oven we replace the power board. We give you a written price first and cover our work with a 30-day workmanship warranty.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
