On older freestanding Fisher & Paykel OR24, OR36 and OR48 ranges such as the OR36LDBGX1, 30 F1 reports that temperature probe ST1 is an open circuit, with a damaged cable or a poorly fitted connector. The control cannot read the oven temperature. The display shows 30 F1 and heating stops, often after a 30-minute countdown on the selector. The cavity stays cold whenever this message is on the display.
1. Turn the selector to OFF and wait out the 30-minute countdown before touching anything. 2. Let the oven cool completely. 3. Do not pull the probe or the wires at the back wall. 4. Restore power at the breaker after a minute and see if the display clears. If 30 F1 comes back, call us.
After 30 F1 appears the selector must be turned OFF and the 30-minute countdown finished before the circuit can be checked. Cutting power early does not help.
Yes, a poorly fitted connector is one of the listed causes. It still takes taking the oven apart to reach it, so we check the connection first and replace parts only if needed.
Please leave it off. The control cannot read the temperature, and the repair is usually small. We give a written price first and a 30-day workmanship warranty after.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
