On early Fisher & Paykel SmartDrive Phase 1 top-load washers, code 33 is a water valve error. The module has detected a problem with the water valve circuit. The owner sees 33 on the display, and the washer may fill poorly, overfill or not fill at all, depending on what the valve is doing.
1. Unplug the washer and turn off both water faucets if the tub is overfilling. 2. Wait a few minutes, restore power and water, and watch the fill. 3. Make sure the inlet hoses are not kinked. 4. If the tub fills without stopping, shut the faucets and call us.
Close the water faucets behind the washer and unplug it. Then call us, because a valve that does not close is a flood risk.
No. Closed faucets usually give a different fill or timeout message. 33 points to the valve circuit itself.
On later models there are separate hot and cold valve codes. 33 is the Phase 1 version and refers to the water valve circuit as a whole.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
