On Fisher & Paykel ActiveSmart Ice & Water refrigerators such as the E522BLXU, Code 29 means the ice maker water solenoid current is low. The connections are loose or the solenoid is an open circuit. Without a working valve the ice maker gets no water and the tray stays empty. The LCD shows the code. The ice tray may stay empty, and the bin gradually runs out of cubes.
1. Unplug the refrigerator for five minutes and restart. 2. Check that the house water supply to the fridge is on. 3. Look at the water line for kinks. 4. If Code 29 returns, call us. Also check that the supply line behind the unit is not kinked and does not drip.
If the solenoid is open, no water enters the tray, so no ice forms. The solenoid is mounted near the rear water inlet. The ice maker head and valve are different parts, so we replace only the right one.
Not usually. The code concerns the electrical side of the valve. It is an electrical condition, so the water line is rarely the cause here. A short check is quick.
