Code 24 on Fisher & Paykel SmartLoad and AeroSmart dryers like the DEGX1, DGGX1, DE27CW1 and DG27CW1 means the door actuator movement took too long. The dryer gave the actuator a set time to open, close or lock the door, and the move was not finished in that time. The display shows the code and the cycle is held back.
1. Unplug the dryer or switch off its breaker for a minute. 2. Take everything out of the drum and check that no fabric is pinched at the door opening. 3. Open and close the door slowly by hand and note any tight spots. 4. Clean lint from the door edge. 5. Power the dryer back up and try again. A repeat of Code 24 means the mechanism needs a technician.
Code 22 says the actuator circuit is open, so it never responds. Code 24 says it did respond but moved too slowly to finish within the allowed time.
We would not spray anything near the mechanism. Lubricant attracts lint and can make the drag worse. Wiping the edge clean is safe; anything beyond that is best left to us.
With this code showing, the cycle usually will not run. Try a power reset once, and if it returns right away, call us rather than forcing the door.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
