On Fisher & Paykel WH2424 front-load washers such as the WH2424F1, WH2424P1 and WH2424P2, the message "KEY LOC" means Keylock is activated. The control panel ignores presses so the cycle cannot be changed by accident. Nothing is wrong with the washer, and an owner can switch the lock off in a couple of seconds. It clears with a simple touch, with no tools.
1. Find the Keylock touch pad on the control panel. 2. Touch and hold Keylock for 2 seconds. 3. Check that "KEY LOC" disappears from the display. 4. Select your cycle and press start. If it does not release, turn the washer off, wait a minute, and try again.
Touch and hold the Keylock pad for 2 seconds. The message clears and the controls respond again. No tools are needed, only a steady touch.
It does not lock on its own. Keylock is switched on by a touch, often by accident while wiping the panel. It stays on until you switch it off yourself.
Turn the washer off, wait a minute and turn it on again, then hold Keylock for 2 seconds. If it still ignores you, call us to check the touch panel.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
