On Fisher & Paykel AquaSmart and EcoSmart top-load washers like the WA37T26EW and WA42T26GW, code 113 means the AC pump thermistor has been detected as a short circuit. That leaves the motor control module unable to monitor the temperature of the AC pump Triac, the electronic switch that drives the drain pump. The washer reports the number and may stop before or during a drain.
1. Turn the washer off and unplug it for one minute. 2. Plug it back in and run a drain and spin with an empty drum. 3. Look at the drain hose behind the washer for kinks, and make sure the standpipe is not blocked. 4. If code 113 returns, leave the washer off and book service. The thermistor is on the control board.
It is an electronic switch on the control board that turns the drain pump on and off. Code 113 says the thermistor watching its temperature reads as shorted.
Checking the hose is fine housekeeping, but this code reports an electrical short on a sensor. A drain blockage would not create it, so the board needs inspecting.
Do not tip or open the machine. If water is stuck inside, call us; we handle drainage safely and quote the price in writing before repairs.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
