On Fisher & Paykel SmartDrive top-load washers in Phase 1, code 14 is a pump connection message. The display module detected that the drain pump is not on when it should be, so the circuit cannot be driving it. The washer cannot empty its water, and the cycle stops with the number on the display. This pairs with code 13, which reports the opposite condition.
1. Turn the washer off and unplug it for one minute. 2. Check the drain hose for kinks and make sure it is seated correctly in the standpipe. 3. Plug in and run a drain cycle. 4. If code 14 appears and water stays in the drum, stop and call us. Do not tip the machine to empty it.
The display module expected the pump to be running and it was not. On a Phase 1 SmartDrive washer, that is reported as a pump connection error.
Code 13 reports the pump on when it should be off. Code 14 is the reverse: the pump is off when it should be on.
Leave the washer unplugged and call us. We drain it safely, find the cause, and quote the price in writing before repairing.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
