What F2 14 means

On current Fisher & Paykel OB24 and OB30 Series 7 and 9 built-in ovens such as the OB30SDPTX1 and OB30DDPTDX1, F2 14 is a power board report that the cavity is not heating. After ten or more minutes on Bake, there was no temperature change. The display shows F2 14, and the oven stays cold. Thermal limiters, elements and the power board are the parts to check.

Common causes of F2 14

  • A bake element that has burned out
  • A thermal limiter that has opened and cut the heat
  • A power board that is not switching the element
  • Wiring or connectors to the element that have failed
✓ One safe check you can try

1. Check that the breaker for the oven has not tripped and is fully on. 2. Turn the oven off and wait ten minutes. 3. Start Bake at a moderate temperature and watch the display for a rise. 4. If the cavity stays cold and F2 14 returns, switch off the breaker and call us. Do not open any panels.

! Why to stop there
  • A cold oven can come from the element, the limiter or the board, and each needs testing to confirm.
  • These parts carry high current and sit behind panels.
  • We check them in order and explain the cost in writing first.
  • Repairs come with a 30-day workmanship warranty.
Opening a panel yourself does not automatically cancel a manufacturer warranty, but it can cause accidental damage, and some manufacturers set their own service conditions. Check your warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.

F2 14F2 14 questions
How does the oven know it is not heating?

The control watches the cavity sensor after Bake starts. If the temperature does not move in about ten minutes, it stops and shows F2 14.

Could the oven just be slow?

A normal oven shows a clear rise within ten minutes. No change at all means the heat is not reaching the cavity, so the code is not about patience.

Do other functions still work?

The lights and fans may still work, since only heating is affected. Tell us which functions run when you call so we can arrive with the right parts.
