On current Fisher & Paykel OB24 and OB30 Series 7 and 9 built-in ovens such as the OB30SDPTX1 and OB30SDPTDX2, F2 13 is a power board report that the cavity temperature sensor is open or shorted. The oven cannot read how hot the cavity is. The display shows the code, and heating stops because a valid temperature reading is missing.
1. Turn the oven off and let it cool. 2. Switch it off at the breaker for one minute and back on. 3. Try a short bake to see if the code returns. 4. Do not touch the sensor inside the oven or pull on its wire. 5. If F2 13 comes back, leave the oven off and call us.
The sensor changes resistance with temperature. If its circuit is broken (open) or bridged (shorted), the power board sees an impossible value and shuts heating off.
The sensor itself is usually a modest part. The visit to test the sensor, wiring and board is what ensures the right replacement, and we quote everything in writing.
No. The oven will not heat at any setting without a valid cavity reading, so the code has to be resolved before cooking. Please do not try other modes either.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
