On the Fisher & Paykel OB24SDPX1 built-in 24-inch oven, the display message "DOOR" means the door is not closed, or the control cannot verify a closed position through the door lock microswitch while you are choosing a self clean mode. The oven will not start the self clean selection until it sees the door as closed and locked. Nothing else about the oven is described by this message.
1. Open the door fully, then close it firmly and check that nothing blocks the frame or seal. 2. Wipe away any grease or debris around the latch area when the oven is cool. 3. Choose the self clean mode again. 4. If "DOOR" still appears with the door closed, switch the oven off at the breaker for a minute and retry. 5. If it remains, call us.
The control relies on a microswitch in the door lock, not on what you can see. If that switch does not register closure, the message appears even with the door shut.
The message appears while selecting a self clean mode, so ordinary baking is usually unaffected. A switch that has gone bad can still cause other door-related trouble over time.
Wiping the visible latch area when cool is fine. The switch itself is inside the lock assembly, and we recommend leaving that to a technician.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
