Fisher & Paykel OB24 and OB30 Series 7 and 9 built-in ovens, including the OB30SDPTX1, OB30DDPTDX1 and OB24SDPTX1, show A3 when the door cannot be unlocked after a Self Clean cycle has finished. The oven is cool but the door stays shut. Turning the power off and on, and pressing gently on the door, often helps the lock to release.
1. Make sure the oven has cooled completely. 2. Turn the oven off at the wall, wait about ten seconds, and turn it back on. 3. Press gently on the door toward the oven while the lock tries to release; do not pull hard. 4. Wait a few minutes and try again. 5. If the door stays locked or A3 returns, call us.
Give the oven at least an hour after the cycle ends so it is fully cool. Then reset the power and press gently on the door while it tries to unlock.
Please do not. The latch and hinges are not built for prying, and damage costs more than the original problem. Call us and we will free it safely.
Self clean heats the cavity a great deal, and the lock must release afterward. If its motor or switch sticks after that heat, the door will not open and A3 appears.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
