Three flashes of the LED on the ice-making board of Fisher & Paykel ActiveSmart ice and water refrigerators in the E522B series, such as the E522BRXFDU and E522BLXU mean the temperature sensor reads too hot. The ice maker uses that sensor to judge when water has frozen, so a too-hot reading can stop harvesting. The LED is on the board at the rear power module and can be seen only from the back of the refrigerator.
1. Check that the freezer door closes fully and the seal is clean. 2. Make sure vents inside the freezer are not blocked by food. 3. Give the freezer a day to reach temperature after any door left open. 4. If the LED still flashes three times, call us. The sensor sits inside the ice maker.
The ice maker temperature sensor is reading too hot. The ice maker relies on it to know when ice is ready, so ice making stops.
It might be, so check the door seal and vents. If food is frozen hard, the sensor is the more likely cause.
We measure freezer temperature and test the sensor, then quote in writing. Repairs carry a 30-day workmanship warranty.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
