What Code 25 means

On Fisher & Paykel ActiveSmart Ice & Water refrigerators such as the E522BRXU and E522BLXU, Code 25 means the ice tray (IM) sensor reads below 660 ohms, shown as sensor hot. The sensor or wiring is shorted. The ice maker then thinks the tray is warm and may not harvest. The LCD shows the code. The tray may look warm to the control, so it never harvests.

Common causes of Code 25

  • Ice tray sensor shorted
  • Pinched ice maker wire
  • Water or ice in the sensor connector
✓ One safe check you can try

1. Unplug the unit for five minutes and restart. 2. Remove ice that has frozen into a block in the bin. 3. Verify the water line is not kinked behind the fridge. 4. If Code 25 returns, call us. Do not force the ejector arm.

! Why to stop there
  • The sensor is part of the ice maker tray.
  • A shorted sensor can stop the ice cycle.
  • We test the sensor and quote in writing first.
Opening a panel yourself does not automatically cancel a manufacturer warranty, but it can cause accidental damage, and some manufacturers set their own service conditions. Check your warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
