On Fisher & Paykel DishDrawer DD605 series dishwashers, F5 means the lid motor currents were too high at start, which happens when the lid is jammed up or down, or the controller has failed. The lid is the motorized cover that opens and closes with the drawer. Owners see F5 and a lid that stays stuck, often with the drawer unusable. This code is not used on DD603 units.
1. Switch the unit off at its breaker. 2. Open the drawer and check nothing is caught under or around the lid. 3. Do not force the lid by hand. 4. Restore power and try once. If F5 returns, call us.
It is the motorized cover over the tub that opens and closes as the drawer moves. F5 tells us the motors drawing power to move it met too much resistance or the controller failed.
We advise against pushing it. The actuators and yokes can be damaged by force. Remove anything in the way, and call us if the lid still will not move.
On a double unit the other drawer can still be used with F5, so we check both when we visit. A written price comes before any repair.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
