Fisher & Paykel DW24U and DW60 built-in dishwashers, such as the DW24U6I1 and DW24U2I1, show A80 as an alarm error in turbidity sensing. The turbidity sensor judges how cloudy the wash water is and helps the machine decide how long to wash and rinse. When that reading fails, owners see A80 and the cycle may stop or run in a basic way.
1. Switch the dishwasher off, then back on, and restart a cycle. 2. Pull out the lower rack and clean the filter under the spray arm, rinsing it under the tap. 3. Wipe visible film from the tub floor with a soft cloth. 4. Run a short cycle. If A80 returns, call us.
It is a small optical sensor in the water path that measures how cloudy the wash water is. The dishwasher uses it to adjust the cycle, so A80 tells us that reading is not working.
A clogged filter can leave heavy residue in the tub, which may affect the water reading. Cleaning it is a safe first step, but a code that returns afterward points to the sensor itself.
We recommend pausing. Without a working reading, washing results can be poor. We can check the sensor and quote a written price first, with a 30-day warranty on the repair.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
