Steam Oven Repair in Houston

Steam ovens make water into gentle heat for fish, vegetables and bread. Hard Houston water is rough on them, so most visits involve scale, a pump that has lost its prime, or a door seal that leaks.

01What goes wrong

Common steam oven problems we fix

In the order we see them across Houston homes.

01

Steam not forming, or the oven running dry

02

Water tank not filling or draining

03

White scale around the cavity or steam outlet

04

Door seal leaking steam onto the cabinet

05

Cooking time much longer than the recipe suggests

06

Odd smells, standing water or a gurgling pump

Fisher & Paykel steam ovens include compact built-in models and combination units that add convection heat to steam, so you can roast and steam in one cavity. They draw water from a tank or a plumbed line, heat it in a generator, and move the steam through the cavity while a pump and drain clear what is left.

Hard water is the main enemy in Houston: scale forms on the generator and in the lines, and the oven works harder to make steam. Door gaskets also soften from repeated heat, and humid kitchens can leave condensation around controls.

We test the water supply, pump, generator, drain and seal, descale when it helps, and finish with a full steam cycle to confirm everything holds.

05Steam Oven questions
How often should a steam oven be descaled?

With Houston's hard water, descaling every few weeks is a sensible habit if you steam often. Use the cleaner the owner's guide suggests, and tell us if scale has built up, so we can clear the lines.

Can I use tap water in my steam oven?

Many owners do, but hard water leaves scale quickly. Filtered or softened water helps, though the best choice follows your owner's guide. We check the pump, lines and generator if scale has already built up.

Why is there water pooling at the door?

A worn door seal, a clogged drain or a tank that was not seated can let water escape. We dry the cavity, inspect the gasket and drain, and test with a short steam cycle.
