Fisher & Paykel OS24NAMHUNB5 Handleless Steam Oven Door and Descaling Repair

Fisher & Paykel steam oven

Most common issues on this model

  1. Handleless door that opens stiffly or sags
  2. Scale buildup in the steam generator
  3. Door seal wear
  4. Water tank seating and level sensing
  5. Steam condensation left on the cavity floor

The OS24NAMHUNB5 is the handleless version of the 24-inch Series 11 Minimal compact combi-steam oven, and it is also sold as OS24NAMHUNG5. With no handle on the front, the door opens with a touch on its edge, so the hinge and latch matter more here than on a standard door. Capacity is 1.9 cu ft, and the tank holds 47 fl oz.

Installations place it in a tall cabinet run where the door line is meant to stay flush with the cabinet fronts. When the door begins to drop or opens unevenly, the whole line shows it. We check the hinge, the latch release and the seal before moving to the steam side, where we descale the generator and test the water level sensing. Pricing is given in writing before we start, and our work comes with a 30-day warranty.

OS24NAMHUNB5OS24NAMHUNB5 questions
The door on my OS24NAMHUNB5 does not open with a touch. Why?

The release works through the latch and a sensor at the door edge. We test both, clean the contact area, and adjust the latch before looking at the control board.

Do you service the OS24NAMHUNG5 as well?

Yes. It is the same oven in a different finish, so the steam system, door and electronics are checked the same way on both.

Why is there water on the cavity floor after steaming?

A small amount of condensation is normal at the end of a cycle. A pool that returns every time points to a tired door seal or a drain path partly blocked by scale, and we trace both.
