High Island, 77623, is part of our Fisher & Paykel service area for refrigerators, freezers, DishDrawer dishwashers, ovens and laundry. Phone or website bookings both work, and we line the trip up with other peninsula calls.

Local housing, power events, water conditions, and installation styles all affect how we approach Fisher & Paykel diagnostics here.
Mail service reached High Island in 1897, and Martin Dunman had settled on the dome back in 1845. The 1930s brought oil strikes in the marshes around it, and about 200 flowing wells ended up encircling the dome.
By 2014 about 300 people lived here, generally in practical houses with full-size appliances. Since the drive out is a long one, we ask for model plate photos in advance so the right parts are loaded.
The Bolivar Peninsula Special Utility District ends at High Island on its east side. Around 2004 it traded groundwater wells for surface water, bought from the Lower Neches Valley Authority, whose plant sits by Winnie.
A slow fill could begin at the supply or inside the appliance, and we separate the two by measuring flow at the inlet and examining the filter. A DishDrawer or ice maker that fills well through a clean screen points us to other parts.
Many houses here stand farther from tide water than those in the beach towns, thanks to the elevation, though Gulf humidity and salt still reach them. Pollen and leaves from the trees around the bird sanctuaries end up in outdoor condensers.
Keep a Fisher & Paykel refrigerator or freezer grille unobstructed and vacuum its condenser every few months. During cooling calls we do that for you and show where the coil hides behind the kickplate.
Plain full-size equipment fills most kitchens: an ordinary refrigerator, a 24-inch dishwasher and complete laundry machines. A separate freezer joins them for some owners during hunting and fishing season.
After sitting idle, a seasonal freezer fills all at once, which is why its gasket, defrost heater and temperature get checked when it returns to service. A DishDrawer in a plain kitchen gets the usual drain and filter inspection.
High Island lies close to the Highway 87 and Highway 124 crossing, a shorter trip from Winnie than from Galveston, so we often come in off I-10 instead of the ferry. Spring crowds at the Houston Audubon sanctuaries, Smith Oaks and Louis Smith, make roadside parking tight. If you live near them, let us know and we will coordinate the arrival with you.
Freezers held back for hunting season work their hardest right after a big load goes in. Check that the door seals fully, the coil is free of dust and air can circulate around the cabinet. A unit that keeps running anyway, or one fed only by an extension cord, needs an electrician to fix the outlet before we replace parts.

Yes. We bundle peninsula visits and usually drive in off I-10 by way of Winnie; tell us the address and the next open day on that route is yours.
Begin with the door seal, the coil and the room around the cabinet. A unit that stays on regardless, or frosts fast, gets its gasket and defrost system tested.
Mainly parking and traffic near the sanctuaries; we plan for that and agree an arrival time with you.
