Fisher & Paykel HC36DTXB1 Wall Chimney Hood Repair

The HC36DTXB1 is a 36-inch wall chimney hood with a 3-speed internal blower, halogen lamps and micromesh filters. It can be converted to run without a duct, so one of the first things we confirm is whether yours vents outside or recirculates, because that changes what airflow to expect.
Micromesh filters hold more grease than they look like they do, and once saturated they restrict the blower. Halogen lamps are the next most common call, since they burn out regularly. If the three speeds are not all working, we test the control and motor windings. A ducted hood also gets its damper checked.
You approve a written price before we begin, and we cover our work for 30 days.
The hood is built to be convertible, but the change involves parts and sealing that need to be done correctly. We can do the conversion or check yours, and tell you what it will cost first.
Hand wash them in hot soapy water with degreaser, rinse well and let them dry fully. Avoid harsh scrubbing, which can bend the fine mesh and reduce its ability to catch grease.
That can mean the speed control is bypassing lower settings, or the motor windings for those speeds have failed. We test the switch and each winding with power off.
