Fisher & Paykel OMD24SDB1 Microwave Drawer Repair

The OMD24SDB1 is a 24″ Series 7 Contemporary microwave drawer. Rather than a door on hinges, it slides out and down, which is why it often goes under a counter or into the base of an island where it is easy to reach with a hot dish.
Wear shows up in the movement. The drawer may stick partway, stop short of closing, or fail to start because the interlock does not see it seated. We check the slide and drive, then the interlock, then the touch controls on the drawer top edge, and finish with a timed heating test.
We give a written price before working and cover repairs for 30 days. If the drawer front is panel-trimmed, we mark its position first so it returns exactly.
The slide track or drive may be dirty, bent or worn, or something small may have fallen behind the drawer. We clear the path, inspect the track and replace worn parts so the interlock registers a fully closed drawer.
Spills run into the drawer base and tracks more than the controls. We clean the track and check for residue near the drive, which prevents sticking and keeps moisture away from the wiring.
Usually it slides out of its opening after we cut power and release the mounting. We protect the countertop and neighboring cabinet faces while we work.
