Houston humidity can fog glass, loosen labels and strain a wine cooler. A few habits protect your bottles and keep the unit running well.
A wine cooler lives in a different world from a refrigerator. It holds bottles at a gentle temperature for months, and Houston’s damp air can leave marks on the glass, the labels and sometimes the corks.
When warm, humid air meets a cold surface, moisture forms. A door that is opened often, or a unit sitting in a hot room, will fog more. Some dampness inside is normal; water running onto the floor is not.
A cooler beside an oven, a dishwasher or a sunny window fights the room’s heat all day. In a high-rise or condo kitchen, check that cabinets around the unit are not trapping warm air.
Call if there is steady water on the floor, the display shows a code, the temperature will not hold, or the compressor runs without stopping. We can test the temperature across the cabinet and tell you what is happening.
Our wine cooler repair page explains the visit. Check the service area to be sure we cover you. Prices are given in writing before work, and each repair has a 30-day workmanship warranty.
